Lefty Japan

We’re excited to introduce our latest release: Joel 035A Lefty Japan – a classic 5-pocket jean crafted from premium Japanese left-hand twill denim. This fabric is specially designed to develop high-contrast fades and an incredible wear pattern over time.

What makes left-hand twill so unique? Thanks to the interaction between the twist of the yarn and the reverse twill diagonal, this denim evolves into an ultra-soft, peach-like texture in areas of heavy wear.

The Joel 035A Lefty Japan is available in our timeless Joel Slim cut, but you can also choose it in any of our other fits. Want something truly unique? Customize your own pair using this denim in our Custom Jeans section with reference D13.

Craftmanship

Companion Denim´s Joel Lefty Japan raw selvedge denim will be cut, sewn and finished by no more than 2 pairs of hands in our workshop located in the heart of Sabadell, a town in the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
We are using a mix of both vintage and modern sewing machines which we have collected through years. We only work with the machinery that offers the highest quality and most reliable stitchings for jeans making.
Companion denim is built on the values of quality, durability, honesty and respect for the environment.

Care

We always recommend to “wear as much as possible, wash as little as possible”. The more you wear your jeans, the better they will look.
Following this principle and washing your jeans after 6-8 months of wear should already show some nice fadings and strong character. However, we aren´t too dogmatic on this. If you need or feel like washing your jeans before that time, do it without regrets.
Wash the jeans inside out in cold temperature or in 40ºc maximum, without using any bleach or chlorine chemicals.
Do not tumble dry the jeans as it can damage some of the materials. Hang dry them instead, as it will also avoid the need of ironing.
