“Day of the Dead”
The “Day of the Dead” is a Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd to honor deceased loved ones.
Families set up “altars, or ofrendas”, decorated with photos, candles, marigold flowers, and favorite foods of the departed.
The celebration combines indigenous traditions with Catholic influences, creating a joyful and colorful way to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have passed on.
